Smart card maker Gemalto, a company with a current market capitalization of EUR 5.9&nbsp billion ($ 7.6 billion), brought a patent infringement lawsuit in October 2010 against Google, Motorola, Samsung and HTC, alleging that "Android Applications and the development of such applications using the Android SDK infringe one or more claims of the Patents-in-Suit".
