I'd have thought that the rules of evidence at trial are the relevant rules of evidence, and that if evidence was admissible at the time, then it doesn't become inadmissible simply because the rules of evidence changed after the trial was over.But the Court of Appeal says here that that's precisely what happens.It's weird to me.
