  My point is not that insurance defense or corporate law is inherently evil (in fact, we need corporate lawyers just as we need public interest lawyers), but rather that the current range of choice is extremely narrow for most young lawyers, which means that many of them find themselves without alternatives but to perform work that they find alienating and morally repugnant.
