Simply deleting the data certainly seems like the most painless way out for all involved—Google has already done exactly this for data collected in Denmark, Ireland, and Austria—but it's clear that several countries want to know exactly what information Google collected on its citizens before wholesale deletions can take place.Update: A US District Judge in Oregon has ordered Google to turn over copies of the data it collected within 10 days. "Last week, France joined Denmark and Canada in banning BPA in food and beverage containers intended for small children, though if the European Food Safet Authority rules the Danish risk assessment--upon which the ban is based--is not sound science the country may have to reverse its ban. In doing so, France joins Canada and Denmark as the only countries to ban BPA use in food containers and packaging for children aged 0-3.It will be interesting to see if this new report on BPA will help the Feinstein amendment or lead to some other crackdown on the chemical's use in canned food, food packaging, and other products that pose risks of exposure?
