Kathleen has a solid record as the first female District Attorney in Nassau County, and has transformed the office tremendously by:  promoting and appointing more female managers, creating a hate-crimes unit that has been a crusading force against all hate crimes including those against the LGBT community, and creating a bureau to investigate animal abuse (for a pet owner like myself, this is an important concern) among other reforms.
