The Schwartz method basically amounts to disassociating brain tissue and out growing cells, while the Uchinda/Weissman method, to which i assume anonymous 1 is referring, uses "cell surface markers" to isolate a subpopulation enriched for progenitors.In fact i just searched the patent office. I do not have a convenient means of searching the claims of granted European patents, but as an exercise I have looked at the online database of the United States Patent Office, where the text of claims granted since 1975 is searchable electronically. [read post]
