Research by Giorgia Maffini, Jing Xing, and Michael Devereaux found that expensing provisions in the United Kingdom encouraged firms to increase their rate of investment by between 2.1 and 2.6 percent compared to firms that didn’t qualify for expensing.[1] The amount individuals and businesses work, save, and invest has an impact on economic output.
