I write, on this day of our lord, from the boat - amused to learn that The Church of England has been accused of being involved in ’short-selling’ - a wonderful irony after the ludicrous intervention of the two archbishops last week accusing short sellers and   Lloyds TSB et al of being “bank robbers and asset strippers”. The FSA has welcomed the decision by Alliance & Leicester, Barclays, The Co-Operative Bank, Lloyds Banking Group (including Lloyds TSB, Halifax and the Bank of Scotland), and RBS/Natwest to stop selling single premium PPI with unsecured personal loans by the end of January 2009. [read post]
