If Google owns X number of patents, there are Y number of other patents declared essential to the same standard and outside that standard the product may need a license to Z number of patents (some reading on other standards, some being non-SEPs), it may appear to be a Herculean task to collect the evidence and develop the theories for which a 2.25%-of-full-product-price royalty demand is outside the FRAND ballpark -- even though it wouldn't take a reasonable, knowledgeable and unbiased… [read post]
