I'm never disposed to feeling empathy with Tory MPs (ex or otherwise) but David Ashby is in an entirely different category (particularly because, if you look at the Standing Committee debates on the Housing Bill 1995-6, he stood up a bit for housing and homelessness rights to the chagrin of other Tory members).
