Many of my friends, including my frequent collaborator, Yuval Feldman, who just these days has arrived to the United States for one such two-year sabbatical (we almost are like characters in David Lodge’s Switching Places; two planes waving at each other airborne), believe that the first year is the hard one, with all the efforts, logistics, adjustments, bureaucracy, and socialization, and the second year is the one you get to enjoy.
