The research did not trace how this affected donations because the organizations mainly used it to build community and foster their online presence. 75% of the top 200 largest charities are using some form of social media (blogs, podcasts, wikis, social networking) according to a survey by the Center for Marketing Research. 46% of the charities reported that social media is a key part of their fund raising efforts.
