So to my mind, the only path forward to advancing Canadian legal information from a “read-only” to a “create” paradigm that improves access, understanding and brings a much-needed competitive discipline to the Canadian commercial legal information market, is to move the CanLII collection into a cooperative in which each member has equivalent access rights and equivalent obligations vis-à-vis the courts that supplied the content.
