To be fair, that judgment affirming the conviction was then vacated on entirely unrelated grounds, although I’m not sure whether that matters from a precedential standpoint: The Supreme Court vacated the decision to help the defendant on a sentencing issue, and it would be strange if that relief undercut the pro-defendant ruling on the Fourth Amendment merits.
