Over the past week or so there has been an outpouring of asylum rulings from the federal circuit courts on petitions by either gay or HIV+ (or gay HIV+) people, and the courts have overwhelmingly supported decisions by Immigration Judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals finding that conditions in the petitioners' home countries were not sufficiently oppressive or dangerous to justify allowing them to remain in the U.S. [read post]
