Perhaps none of my readers in South Carolina will be surprised to learn that two former colleagues of South Carolina Supreme Court Justice Kaye Hearn, both retired judges who sat with her for many years on that State's Court of Appeals, have appeared as "friends of the court" (amici curiae) in the Episcopal Church case on her behalf.
