"The way the system works, if someone is convicted of a sex crime and serves his or her time in prison, he or she is able to be released without probation" but has to register as a sex offender, said David Gass, legislative liaison for the Arizona Attorney General's Office.Gass said the new law will put sex offenders on lifetime probation after their time in prison.The bill defines an electronic communication device as a computer, a cellular or a wireless device.
