Until this recent outbreak, whole cantaloupe had never been linked to  Listeria outbreak, although cases of E. coli and salmonella have been linked to cut cantaloupe.Patricio praises the Food and Drug Administration, the CDC, public health officials and the food-safety community for their "maturity" in handling the situation.
