The FASB rule change all but killed off the CoCo until earlier this fall, when Lloyds Banking Group, plc, perhaps at the behest of the Bank of England and the FSA, resurrected it in a different form. [read post]

Abu Dhabi has reportedly said that it would not do a blank-check bailout but deal with the issue on a case by case basis.On the other side of the fence, big UK banks, namely HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group and Standard Chartered reportedly hold $30 billion or 50% of this debt and consequently quite invested to defend their interests and get the best deal possible on reclaiming their money back from the beleaguered DW. Our Beaumont Enterprise reports today: State Farm Lloyds must pay home insurance policyholders $310 million in refunds and interest for overcharges stretching back as far as six years… This is a drop in the bucket compared to what abuses take place. [read post]
