I may write another blog post in the future on how this works, but basically, federal antitrust law mostly prohibits indirect purchasers from suing for damages (see Illinois Brick), so there is often a separate class of indirect purchasers that seek relief under state antitrust law (and sometimes for injunctive relief under federal law).
