On May 22, the Senate Banking Committee voted overwhelmingly to approve an amendment to that bill (now section 27) that would prohibit the Trump administration from lifting sanctions on ZTE unless it can vouch that ZTE is currently cooperating with U.S. officials and has been compliance with U.S. law for at least one year.
