We communicate with children subjected to violence by siblings, threats, mothers who cry all day, children with mentally ill parents, parents with drug and substance abuse problems, parents in violent conflict with each other, parents under enormous psychological strain due to lay-offs and financial problems and children with parents subjecting them to physical and mental violence, neglect and sexual abuse…why should we be in a care home nursing… [read post]

In my experience a lot of writing about writing is unduly prescriptive and I think that's bad for writers - if the prescription works for you, great, but it's not like you're benefited by it being posed as 'you should do this' rather than 'maybe try this and see what happens! [read post]
