Together with about 350 music school operators and other music businesses, they filed a lawsuit in Tokyo District Court against JASRAC, to argue that copyright fees should not be payable when using music for educational purposes.In December 2017, the group of music-schools and instrument-makers asked the Agency for Cultural Affairs to suspend copyright fee collection until their ongoing lawsuit with JASRAC concludes.
