To talk about the Democratic Party in 2019, it seems, is to talk about a completely contrived “civil war” between the center and the left, with Bernie Sanders being the avatar of the supposedly out-of-control emboldened lefties who will scare away moderate voters and inadvertently help Donald Trump stay in the White House.This is nonsense on stilts, but that has not stopped it from becoming part of the conventional wisdom.
