The auditing of fees and penalties assessed will go to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Navigant Consulting Inc. and Promontory Financial Group LLC, et al, which is funny because some of these companies are the same companies that were around when the failure in compliance were occurring… and still are occurring, so the question on everyone’s mind is whether the accounting firm can be credibly independent.
