According to Michael Cohn at webcpa.com, at a recent tax forum in New York, Patrick Leahy, an IRS attorney with the estate and gift tax division in Manhattan, instructed a group of tax preparers not to file any federal estate tax returns (IRS Form 706) for decedents who die in 2010: "'If you file a 706 to the IRS Service Center,'" he warned, "'we will rapidly return it to you because we don't have a place to put them.'"...Read… [read post]
