Zolpidem (Photo credit: Wikipedia)The number of emergency room visits involving adverse reactions to the sleep drug zolpidem -- the active ingredient in Ambien and other sleep medications -- jumped nearly 220% from 2005 to 2010, according to a report out today.The report, by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), says 19,487 emergency visits were related to zolpidem in 2010, up from 6,111 in 2005.Read more… [read post]
