Surely one reason that Bernie Sanders is so relatively inept in talking about race, for example, is that he represents a stunningly white (95%) state, not to mention one with the lowest fertility rate and an ever-increasing percentage of older folks who are, frankly, unlikely to contribute much to the economy.
