As an aside, according to Wikipedia the last execution by hanging in the United States took place in 1996, the Washington Post reports that the most recent execution by gas chamber was in 1999, the most recent execution by firing squad was in Utah in 2010, and that the most recent execution by electric chair took place in 2013.
