Among the more amusing assertions he makes is that the FDIC under Bair "nurtured private capital" to start the flow of capital coming, then cleverly slammed the door shut on private equity players' fingers once the spigots of capital were turned on and "private equity, eventually healthy banks" were "enticed" to do deals with the FDIC even though the FDIC made the deal terms much less attractive.
