In a press release, found here, (which includes a link to the seven-page charge sheet), the Pentagon accused Hamdan of engaging for more than four years in a conspiracy to aid violent al Qaeda attacks on the U.S., including the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and of providing "matrerial support for terrorism. [JURIST] A new Pentagon survey [text] of the mental health of deployed US Army and Marine Corps troops in Iraq released Friday shows that a significant percentage approve of abusing and even torturing Iraqi non-combatants, finding that "only 47 percent of soldiers and 38 percent of Marines agreed that non-combatants should be treated with dignity and respect.
