  After 40 years of doing natural science, I am persuaded (and have been since I discovered the work 20 years ago), that the neo-pragmatist approach of Richard Rorty is actually enormously useful, for example as argued in his essay "Pragmatism without method" (easily accessible in pages 63-77 of Volume 1 of Rorty's s collected Philosophical Papers, Cambridge University Press; my edition is 1991.)
