Tiger death could not be meaningfully compared to human death because, if the character of an experience is tied to the subject, then a statement that one is worse than the other could only be deconstructed to mean that human death is worse for tigers than tiger death, or tiger death is worse for humans than human death; these claims are unintelligible.
