So Dan Markel and I are sitting around a table in Falls Village, Connecticut, and I'm telling him how I admire his work, but wonder if my own isn't too esoteric -- after all, while I study and write about the intersection of law and religion, I do so not from the constitutional or civil libertarian perspective,  but from the quasi-Levinsonian perspective of seeing law as religion, as reflecting religious concerns even as it denies them.
