As you move up in rankings there are of course things about the peer group that get worse, mainly centered around the sense of entitlement that pervades elite institutions, but overall the rankings system is largely a giant sorting system and moving from the top of a smaller hill to the middle of a bigger one can be an advantage of transferring.
