If Australians and New Zealanders have children domestically via surrogacy at the same rate (and we don’t know this), then the number of domestic births in Australia via gestational surrogacy for the calendar year 2019 were the number of births 73 divided by the combined population of Australia and New Zealand (25 + 5) multiplied by the population of Australia equals 73/(25+5) x 25= 60.83, rounded to 61.
