In the face of comments like the one made by retiring Kansas City Fed President Thomas Hoening (a man we've taken a peculiar shine to here at BLB) last May when Frank first floated this lead balloon, that it would be "a tragic mistake," we're hoping that this blatant attempt to subject the Fed to direct political pressure (as if the traditional indirect pressure that Congress and the Executive Branch traditionally uses wasn't enough) will fall flat.
