DeCato's continued confinement at the state prison's secure psychiatric unit pending his civil commitment trial to determine if he is a sexually violent predator is unconstitutional because it keeps him in corrections department custody even though he no longer is an inmate, his attorney argued yesterday. That characterization aside, I do think that the linked piece is essentially correct in characterizing what the women showed as loyalty (which it was) rather than “correct knowledge” (which Jim L. says it was, but it wasn’t). [read post]
