The theme of gene stealing runs throughout popular culture, from countless romantic comedy films — in which a DNA sample is faked or stolen to manipulate the outcome of a paternity test — to the Harry Potter series, in which wizards use the Polyjuice Potion to transform themselves into the person whose strand of hair, and presumably DNA, is obtained and mixed into the concoction.
