San Mateo’s adopted minimum wage schedule is: Year Rate January 1, 2017 $12.00 January 1, 2018 $13.50 January 1, 2019 $15.00 January 1, 2020 $15.00,  plus increase tied to Consumer Price Index (CPI) Beginning January 1, 2020 and every year thereafter, the minimum wage will increase based on any increase to the CPI for San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose.
