Nonetheless, there is not only relatively little academic legal literature on the Attorney General in the Canadian context, but also relatively little knowledge and understand­ing of the role and professional responsibilities of the Attorney General among the public, the media, policymakers, and politicians – including at least some Attorneys General themselves – particularly regarding their status as a lawyer and the duties that flow from that status.
