So, as understandably impatient as we all are in wanting to know what the Supreme Court is going to do on the merits of a case, we can’t assume anything when the Court declines to take up (or says it lacks jurisdiction over) a matter, and we can’t assume very much simply because the Court indicates that it (at least provisionally) intends to resolve a matter.
