Donna Sherman, 33, Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and her title company Sherman Title Agency, have been indicted on 46 counts for fraudulently closed 1.4 million dollars in loans from People's Choice Home Loans that enabled others engaged in fraud to purchase 21 houses in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. 17 of the 21 homes fell into either tax or mortgage foreclosure. The Supreme Court of Ohio ruled 7-0 today that privately organized working groups of business leaders, government employees and private citizens that have been making informal recommendations for the smooth transition of Cuyahoga County government to its new format are not “public bodies” or “public offices” as those terms are defined in state law, and therefore are not subject to the requirements of Ohio’s open meetings and public records statutes.
