Even if Joe had been violating the law, McBay's act of shooting down the drone was far from justified, since firing a shotgun at someone else's property is likely to create a far greater danger than the mere possibility that the drone is being used to conduct illegal surveillance.As drones become more common (particularly in locales where firearms are prevalent), I would not be surprised to see more incidents like this.
