In dissent, Justice Cavanagh, joined by Chief Justice Kelly, agreed with the defendant that only the maximum sentence could be doubled because MCL §  769.34(2) requires that all minimum sentences for certain felonies must fall within the range calculated under the sentencing guidelines and doubling the minimium sentence could result in a minimum sentence outside that range.
