A Celebration of Viols (which included the only contemporary music of the afternoon, a commissioned work by David Loeb called "Cries of Kyoto"), and Spiritus Collective, another baroque group, but this time especially featuring period brass instruments, in excerpts from their full-length program titled "Sonata concertate," where most of the solos were played on trumpets and sackbuts (the baroque trombone).
