While a police officer running roughshod over the constitutional protections they’re sworn to uphold always deserves swift condemnation, I believe that the media coverage in this case is overblown, doesn’t adequately convey the legal complexities of this situation, and subtly endorses an impossible burden for police officers to uphold.
