Some have suggested the court is more likely to grant blockbusters when they won’t be heard until next term, because they won’t have to rush the decision in the few months remaining before the court’s summer recess (or, perhaps more cynically, because they’ll have longer before having to confront high-profile, politically freighted decisions).
