The aircraft involved was a Boeing 727-223 jet that was to be used to transport a certain basketball team to a Canadian airport on November 3, 2004, and fly the team back the next day (presumably, the team was the Houston Rockets that played (and lost to) the Toronto Raptors in Toronto on that date).
