If anyone thought that the decisions of the Full Federal Court of Australia in Research Affiliates LLC v Commissioner of Patents [2014] FCAFC 150 and Commissioner of Patents v RPL Central Pty Ltd [2015] FCAFC 177 would clarify the law relating to patent-eligibility of computer-implemented inventions (CIIs), resulting in greater certainty for patent applicants, then the evidence suggests that those people should be sorely disappointed.
